President Obama is praising a senate agreement passed this morning to extend the social security payroll1 tax cut into the new year.As NPR S.H reports the short term agreement merely sets the stage from another tax showdown in early 2012.The tax cut approved by the senate is not as big as the one the president asked for and it lasted for just two month.Still,Mr Obama says that's better than the alternative.A tax increased for 160000 working Americans if the senate have refused to act.I wanna thank them for ensuring as we head into the holiday folks at home, don't have to worry about the tax is going up.Mr Obama says he expects lawmakers will eventually ok a tax cut for the full year.The senate bill also requires the administration to give expedited review to a controversial oil pipe plan,something the white house hopes to put off until after next year election.S.H,NPR news,the white house.
