Go up to your parents, at least once a week, and just be like, "Hey, I exist!"

Don't get so sad because everybody says the oldest and the youngest child gets like the favorite. For an Oreo, do you like the cream or do you like the cookie? You like the cream, so that's good for being a middle child!

So I would just say take advantage of that.

Well the verb "to build," the noun "building," and I think it's just all that it's in a relationship.

build是动词，building是名词，我想这就像一种关系。

I guess that's just what the name was called for it. A construction worker said, "Um, when are we gonna build this building?" or missaid something and then the manager caught on and started calling it a building.

我想这就是我们对它的称呼。建筑工会说：“嗯，我们什么时候建这座大楼？”或者他们说错了话，不过经理明白了他的意思，所以开始称之为building大楼。

I'm a teacher. You're asking the wrong man that question.

I don't know. Your dog ate your homework. Go with that.

Say, "I forgot my homework. I'll bring it the next day," and that should do it.

Bring it the next day if you couldn't do it with like a parent's signature.

Ask for like maybe a half credit because, over all, that was your fault.

The first time, you can probably speak to the teacher and say, "I'm sorry. I forgot my homework." But if it happens again, you're out of luck.

第一次的话，你可以和老师说：“抱歉，我忘了做作业了。”可是如果你再次忘做作业，那你就太倒霉了。

Honesty is the best policy. You gotta go in, you gotta talk to your teacher, and you gotta say, "I'm sorry I forgot it," and maybe you take a lower grade or something.

诚实为上策。你应该去和老师说：“抱歉，我忘做作业了。”可能你会得到较低的分数。

Thank the teacher for an extension and let the teacher know that you promise to do the homework and that you will have it to her or him at X time.

谢谢老师延长交作业的时间，让老师知道你一定会做作业，而且会带过来。

I shouldn't be saying this, but I'm really good at lying. So if you make it up, sounding like you were busy, sometimes teachers will let it go.

我其实不应该这么说，不过我很擅长说谎。你可以编个理由，让你看起来很忙，有时老师不会计较的。

I doubt this will work, but if you're really desperate you could try making up an elaborate excuse. "The aliens abducted⁵ me on this morning, and I — they took my homework with them!"

虽然我很怀疑这个方法有没有用，不过如果你很绝望，你可以试着编个巧妙的借口。比如：“今天早上外星人绑架了我，他们拿走了我的作业！”
