　　A:Jane,I will go to New York on business² tomorrow.

　　A：珍妮，明天我要到纽约出差。

　　B:How long will the trip last?

　　B：多长时间？

　　A:About half a month.

　　A：大约半个月吧。

　　B:Can you make a promise that you won't drink and smoke too much?

　　B：你能做出承诺不过量喝酒抽烟吗？

　　A:OK, I will. Any other words?

　　A：行，还有别的吗？

　　B:Can I depend³ on you that you will buy some dresses for me?

　　B：我能指望你给我买些衣服吗？

　　A:Of course⁴, I will keep it in mind⁵.

　　B:And give me a call every night.

　　A:HI try. You know, the business is very busy.

　　A:Thank you very much. I'm sure both of us will keep the promise.

1 promise   

n.诺言，约定，希望；v.允诺，约定，预示
