U.S. President Joe Biden is feeling emboldened¹ after Democrats² defied predictions of big GOP gains during the midterm elections on Tuesday.

At a news conference, the president noted³ "the press and pundits⁴ forecast a giant red wave."

Instead, "Democrats had a strong night," limiting Republican gains in the House and keeping a potential path toward holding the Senate majority.
