Zong's solution? He bought 20 chargers from Tesla and gave them away to hotels along his route that responded to a social media plea for parking spaces and power outlets³. Every charge required an overnight stay, so the journey took more than two weeks—but Zong says the publicity⁴ along the way probably sold another 150 cars.
