Also tonight for sources familiar with the matter tell NBC News chief of staff John Kelly's expected to depart within days after a tumultuous tenure⁸, punctuated⁹ by policy clashes. Kelly even feuding¹⁰ with members of the first lady's team. The president last month non-committal when asked about Kelly's future. People leave, people leave. Kelly's likely replacement¹¹ vice¹² president Pence's chief of staff Nick Ayers, an ambitious 36 year old political strategist.
