　　He meant to come here to meet you in person.

　　他本打算亲自来接你。

　　But some other business held him back, so he asked me to come in his place.

　　他因公务缠身，才由我替他来接你。

　　Tip:

　　固定搭配，相当于 personally。另外注意 ask me to say hello to you和 take/ give my greetings/ regards to sb.的区别，前者是转达某人对对方的问候，后者表示要对方代自己向某人问好。
