Authorities in Hawaii have apologised for a false alert about an incoming missile attack that was issued to mo??re than a million people because an official pressed the wrong button on a computer screen. TV and radio broadcasts were interrupted, and a stark¹ warning appeared on residents' phones telling them to seek shelter, before adding: 'this is not a drill'.

Authorities in Western Australia are treating a fire in the Perth Hills as suspicious. Parks and wildlife officers say they've discovered two ignition points they believe were set by an arsonist².
