The foreign minister Julie Bishop¹ says it's too early to discuss what role Australia will play in any further military action in Syria. US president Donald Trump² says he'll make a decision in the next 24 to 48 hours on a military response, after a suspected chemical weapons attack in Syria.

The US president Donald Trump has blasted special counsel Robert Mueller, for an FBI raid on the president's personal lawyer which has to do with an investigation³ into payments from Mr Cohen to an adult film star. It raises speculation⁴ he plans to fire Mr Mueller, who's been investigating Russian me?ddling in the 2016 election.

Social media giant Facebook has begun notifying users whether they're among the 87-million people whose data was shared with the controversial consultancy company Cambridge Analytica. Around one million facebook users in the UK and over 300-thousand in Australia have been affected⁵. Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg is due to testify before US Congress this week.
