A tornado¹ described as large and dangerous tore through the Dayton, Ohio area late Monday night. An estimate of 5 million people were without power Tuesday morning, while snowplows were used to clear debris² from I-75.

Possible tornadoes³ also hammered the town of Pendleton, northeast of Indianapolis. Officials warned residents to stay in their homes to avoid live electric wires that were left in the streets.

A man with knives attacked a group of school girls and adults in Tokyo, Japan. Authorities say the man killed two people and injured 16 before he killed himself.

President Trump⁴ concluded his trip to Japan with a visit to the navy assault ship USS Wasp⁵. President and first lady Melania Trump visited a Japanese destroyer that was docked nearby.
