 The figure of the stranger then became exceedingly bright, and Midas was forced to close his eyes. 陌生人的身影变得极其明亮，迈达斯只好闭上眼睛。

On opening them again, he beheld¹ only one yellow sunbeam in the room, and, all around him, the glistening² of the precious metal which he had spent his life in storing up. 当他再次打开眼睛时，他只看到房间里有一束黄色的阳光，在他的四周，闪耀着他一生积攒下来的贵重金属。

Whether Midas slept as usual that night, the story does not say. 至于那天晚上迈达斯是否睡得像往常一样，故事并没有说。

Asleep or awake, however, his mind was probably like that of a child to whom a beautiful new plaything has been promised in the morning. 然而，不管他是睡着了还是醒着，他的想法很可能就像一个孩子，早晨得到了一个漂亮的新玩具。
