On Friday, according to the state's Governor Jerry Brown, one of the worst droughts in California's history has officially ended.
Thanks to months of drenching1 storms and melting snowpack, Brown has lifted most stipulations of an emergency order he implemented2 back in January 2014.
In a statement, the Democratic Brown said, "This drought emergency is over, but the next drought could be around the corner. Conservation must remain a way of life."
He then added that officials will still require some long-term water-use limits imposed in 2016 and are developing standards for water preservation3 in urban areas.
