But they plan on selling their lidar technology to companies that don't manufacture vehicles.

Instead of offering their self-driving technology to competitors, they want to make deals with companies outside of autonomous² driving.

Waymo's head of the Lidar Team, Simon Verghese, said they want to work with companies that develop robotics, security, agricultural technologies.

Verghese added that offering their lidar technology to other industries will help them develop technological³ breakthroughs.
