A recent study conducted by King's College London and the University of Suffolk tested freshwater shrimp¹ from 15 different sites in the UK for micropollutants.

According to CNN, the researchers found traces of illicit² drugs, pharmaceuticals³, and pesticides⁴ in the samples.

Cocaine⁵ was found in all specimens⁶ collected, and the drug ketamine was discovered in many of the study samples.
