Cardinal¹ George Pell has denied all knowledge of a paedophile priest operating in the Ballarat diocese when he was a priest and adviser² to bishop³ there.

The former priest Gerald Ridsdale has been convicted of 138 offences against children involving 52 victims.

Most of the offences happened under the watch of the Bishop of Ballarat Ronald Mulkearns.
