Investigations¹ are continuing into why a man exploded a van full of gas cylinders² outside the Australian Christian³ Lobby headquarters in Canberra. Federal justice minister Michael Keenan says a motive⁴ for the attack is still unclear but the head of the ACL, Lyle Shelton, remains⁵ unconvinced it was a random⁶ act.

The threats have come from Queensland backbencher George Christensen and South Australian senator Cory Bernardi but the justice minister Michael Keenan has played down the prospect⁸ of defections.

Authorities across Europe are searching for a Tunisian man who's the main suspect behind the truck attack on a Berlin Christmas market which killed 12 people. 24 year old Anis Amri has been named as the man being sought by authorities. His identity papers were found in the truck used in the attack.
