Chinese President Xi Jinping is suggesting the visit of Malaysia's Supreme1 Head of State will help boost cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese President has met with Abdul Halim of Kedah here in Beijing.
Xi Jinping says the bilateral2 relationship between China and Malaysia has been progressing past 40 years.
For his part, Halim says he is looking forward to expanding Malaysia's ties with China through the visit, which will run until Monday.

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen says the alliance has established "a comprehensive and tailored package of measures" to help Ukraine.
He made the remark at a NATO summit in the Welsh city of Newport.
The package includes NATO providing Ukraine with 15 million euros of assistance, which including supports for logistics, rehabilitation3 for injured troops, cyber defense4 and communications.
The NATO chief is also calling on Russia to pull back its troops from Ukraine and end what he calls the "illegal" annexation5 of Crimea.
British officials, meantime, say fresh EU and US sanctions against Russia are due to be announced later on this Friday.
The NATO summit has also touched upon Afghanistan and the threat of the so-called Islamic State.
