2014年CRI 台风凤凰将在浙江沿海登陆 新疆轮台县多处发生爆炸致2人亡

 

Heavy rain has been lashing¹ coastal² areas of east China's Zhejiang Province as tropical storm Fung-Wong is approaching.

Nearly 160 thousand people have been forced to evacuate³ their homes in Ningbo, Wenzhou and Taizhou.

The typhoon is expected to land in the Chinese mainland later on today.

Wenzhou City has demanded kindergartens, primary and middle schools suspend classes today.

Fung-Wong hit Taiwan on Sunday, forcing the cancellation⁴ of dozens of flights and ferry services too.

It has killed at least ten people in the northern parts of the Philippines.

At least two people have been killed as multiple explosions are reported in Luntai County of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous⁵ Region.

Dozens of others have been injured.

The blasts came after local authorities in Xinjiang listed seventeen officials and police officers who received penalties for not adequately doing their duty.

In July, a terror attack in Shache County left 37 civilians⁶ dead and 94 others injured.

A 74-year-old religious leader was also murdered following that attack.
