Victoria is ramping¹ up coronavirus testing, as a rise in cases there forces other states and territories to review plans to re-open their borders. There were long lines at testing stations in Melbourne yesterday, as the city tries to control transmission in six designated hotspots.

The legal community has been stunned⁴ by a high court investigation⁵ finding former judge Dyson Heydon sexually harassed⁶ six former associates. Chief justice Susan Kiefel revealed the findings of the inquiry⁷ in a statement yesterday, saying the court was "ashamed". The independent probe found the sexual harassment⁸ had occured during Mr Heydon's time on the high court bench between 2003 and 2013. Mr Heydon has emphatically denied the allegations, saying the investigation was conducted by a public servant — not a lawyer or a judge — and didn't have investigative powers.
