Winding¹ westwards into the hills,

So, what causes Gaoligongshan's strange and remarkable² climate?

In late May, gusts³ of wind arrive,

五月后旬阵风来临

bringing with them the key to Gaoligongshan's mystery.

The winds are hot and saturated⁴ with water.

They come all the way from the Indian Ocean.

Channelled by Yunnan's unique geography,
