These are Chinese mitten¹ crabs²,

这些是中华绒蝥蟹

named for their strange hairy claws.

They may migrate as much as 1,500 kilometres

from tributaries³ and lakes to the river mouth,

where they gather to breed.

A similar migration⁴ is made by the giant Yangtze sturgeon,
