Federal cabinet minister Kelly O'dwyer says the government will tighten¹ up politicians expense entitlements in the first half of this year. It comes as sidelined frontbencher Sussan Ley faces scrutiny² over her taxpayer-funded travel expenses.

A new drug that is said to melt away cancer in some patients with the most common type of leukaemia has been approved by Australia's Therapeutic⁵ Goods Administration. The drug which has been developed in Melbourne has been approved for some stage-four patients of chronic⁶ lymphocytic leukaemia.
