(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
In a number of years, business owners in Seattle must pay their employees at least $15 bucks1 an hour. The wage hike is championed by city council member Kshama Sawant, elected from the Socialist2 Alternative Party, who says lower wages are unfair to teens and unskilled workers.
Sawant: "And so the solution to that is not to condemn4 them further to low wages, but actually to bring them on par3 with everyone else."
Small businesses are supposed to have seven years to phase in the higher wage, but if they're a part of a national franchise5, they might only have three years.
