A couple of 12 year-old Waukesha, Wisconsin girls invite a friend over for a sleepover. All three head to a wooded area, when one of the girls holds the classmate down, while another pulls out a knife. Authorities say the victim was stabbed 19 times.

Police: "In the arms, legs and torso. Many of the stab wounds struck major organs, but incredibly and thankfully, the victim survived this brutal¹ assault."

Left for dead, the middle school student crawled to a nearby road where a bicyclist helped her. The two 12 year-olds are charged as adults with first-degree attempted homicide. Investigators² say the girls were apparently³ motivated by a fictional⁴ character on a horror website.
