Australia has again rejected New Zealand's offer to resettle 150 refugees from Manus island and Nauru. New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern renewed the offer when she met Malcolm Turnbull in Sydney. But Mr Turnbull says he would focus on the resettlement plan with the US, before considering any deal with New Zealand.

Assistant immigration minister Alex Hawke is the latest MP to be caught up in the ongoing¹ citizenship² saga³. Mr Hawke has been forced to deny he's a dual⁴ citizen after it was revealed his mother was born in Greece. In a statement, the Liberal MP says he was born in Australia and "has only ever solely⁵ held Australian citizenship."
