With his tweets referencing Biden, Trump has largely appeared fixated on the number of votes his rival was able to attract. CBS News reported that Biden surpassed 80 million votes, which thanks to a record turnout was the most in U.S. history.
Trump wrote on November 27: "Biden can only enter the White House as President if he can prove his ridiculous '80,000,000 votes' were not fraudulently or illegally obtained." The same day, he alleged9 swing states Biden won were politically corrupt10.

"If you look at the numbers, the numbers are false. The numbers are corrupt. It was a rigged election—100 percent—and people know it," Trump had falsely claimed.
