Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed the need to achieve the targets and missions for strengthening national defense¹ and armed forces this year, while maintaining effective pandemic control.

The President made the remarks at a plenary meeting of the People's Liberation Army and People's Armed Police Force at the National People's Congress.
