The F.B.I. and the Justice Department are investigating whether the St.Louis Cardinals¹ hacked² into the Houston Astros' internal networks to steal closely guarded information about player personnel.

Reports site law enforcement officials who aren't saying which employees were the focus of the investigation³,or whether the team's highest-ranking officials were aware of the alleged⁴ hacking⁵, or authorized⁶ it.
