Ahead of a meeting with President Trump¹ on Thursday, Ireland’s Prime Minister saying he plans to raise the subject of Irish illegal immigrants in the United States.

Enda Kenny saying he understands that immigration reform is a sensitive issue, but that America would benefit from a system that addresses the needs of what he calls the undocumented Irish. In a speech he talked about hard-working taxpayers² who’ve been living in the shadows, but want to remain and continue contributing to American society.

It’s estimated around 50,000 Irish people are living in the U.S. illegally.
