millions of those workers had their fingerprint¹ records stolen from federal computers last spring.

The Office of Personnel Management had said that just over a million sets of prints were hacked⁵.

Now it's five and a half million.

The agency says it found some archives it hadn't analyzed⁶ before.

OPM says thieves'ability to misuse⁷ the stolen prints is limited now, but technology is evolving.
