The Pentagon is confirming that the two Navy boats deviated¹ from their planned course on their way to refueling.

What's still not known is what caused the change in course and why the boats entered into Iranian territorial² waters.

The Defense³ Department also confirms that after armed Iranian military personnel boarded the two Navy boats, they were escorted by gunpoint to a small port facility on Farsi Island.

There are no indications that the 10 sailors were physically⁴ harmed during their 15-hour detainment.
